Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sportthat allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of other combat sports, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grapplingtechniques, both while standing and while on the ground. Such competitions allow fighters of different backgrounds to compete.

The roots of modern mixed martial arts can be traced back to mixed style contests that took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s. MMA has since grown in popularity and is recognised as a sport in its own right as well as a fantastic way of building superior fitness. Action Potential is working with the Rising Crane Centre for martial arts to provide a tailored fitness and conditioning programme for its MMA students. Classes include cardiovascular, strength and conditioning, and pad work to create an intense workout for those who already have a great level of fitness but need to take it to the next level in order to achieve their personal goals.

“Neil is an excellent teacher with great expertise in the areas of strength and conditioning. He has coached the Rising Crane mixed martial arts team, and his programs have greatly improved their power, stamina and performance in the cage.”
